A Balloonist's Funeral

Last Saturday afternoon as I drove west on Main Street past Wilde Funeral Home, two hot air balloon gondolas sat, sans balloons, flames burning brightly, on the sidewalk in front of the funeral parlor.

What's going on I thought?  How did the balloons land amidst all the buildings and overhead wires?  Where are the balloons? All these questions ran through my mind.

Buy The Brave Fundraiser Announced

The Octorara High School Student Council is hosting a “Buy a Brick” fundraiser to raise the $25,000  needed to pay for the "Brave" Statue which stands in front of the newly renovated High School.  

Octorara Student Council invites alumni and residents of the district together with faculty, staff, students to buy a brick and carve up to 3 lines of their own text into a 4" X 8" brick.  

Bricks are available for donations from $62.50 to $77.50.
