Motorcycle Ride/Scavenger Hunt EMT Fund Raiser Next Saturday

Next Saturday, September 17 at Layton Park in on 340, there will be a motorcycle ride/ scavenger hunt to raise money to send 2 people a year to EMS training in the name of Marcy Riale.

Marcy Riali has been serving Chester County for many years as an E.M.T as well as an E.M.T. instructor.

After saving many lives as an emergency medical technician, Marcy is currently in her own life-battle with cancer. 

                                                         

Prizes will be awarded on the scavenger hunt ride. Registration is 9:00 AM and the ride will start at 10:00.

Danish and coffee will be available at registration.  For those who want to stay after the ride, there will be a barbecue including hot dogs, hamburgers and homemade chili served.

Chester County Public Safety Training Facility Coming To Western Chester County

Representatives of various fire, police and medical services, the county commissioners and others pose outside the new facility.

County leaders, including Commissioner Kathi Cozzone, announced a new public safety training facility would be built on 130 acres recently acquired from Arcelor Mittal, immediately across from the South Coatesville borough building.

Long in the works, this center will have a significant impact on Parkesburg residents.  Not only will it bring development and jobs to our region of the county, but more importantly, our firefighters and police will have a 7-10 minute trip to attend the many training classes and sessions planned at the facility.

Currently officers and fire fighters travel over an hour to facilities in Delaware and Lancaster counties for training.

This project means less money out of their already stretched budgets for gas and travel expenses and more time for the all volunteer firefighters to spend with their families.

Parkesburg Borough Council took a leadership roll in the Summer of 2008 by becoming the first municipality in Chester County to pass a resolution urging the county to build the facility in western Chester County.
