This from LancasterOnline yesterday:
David Dickinson should have graduated from Octorara Area High School in
1980, but a half-credit health class, which he failed several times,
kept him from putting on a cap and gown to claim his diploma.
Thirty-one years later, Dickinson made up the course work he left behind as a teenager. As students returned to class at the end of August, Dickinson was about to put that chapter behind him. He put on a suit and hat, shook hands with Octorara Superintendent Thomas Newcome, and proudly accepted his diploma.
"The world has changed a lot," said Dickinson, who was raised in Cochranville by his grandparents, Clarence and Rebecca Dickinson. "I did OK, but I would have done a lot better if I had had my diploma."
