Disaster Restoration Company Opens

This from an edition of the Daily Local last month:

HIGHLAND — Chester County may not be Tornado Alley, or an earthquake zone but homeowners and business fall can victim to disasters, weather and otherwise.

In general, folks in this neck of the woods deal with water damage from worn-out washing machine or dishwasher hoses, water used to douse fires, frozen pipes that cracked or rusted-out water heaters.

“That’s 150 gallons running everywhere,” said Kevin Stauffer, who opened the doors to his Rainbow International franchise in May.

Rainbow International of Southeastern Pennsylvania provides water, fire, smoke and mold damage cleanup and restoration. Other services offered include carpet, grout and tile cleaning.

Taylor Wells, communications manager for Rainbow, said this area of the country generates a lot of business from homeowners who winter in warmer climates.

Sometimes, when they come home, they find the cold weather has frozen and cracked pipes, dripping water into the house for months, Wells said in a phone interview from the company’s headquarters in Waco, Texas. Worn-out, leaking hoses to appliances is another unwelcomed greeting.
