Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Edward R. Smith graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
He is the son of Sherry Fetterman of Parkesburg and grandson of Edward Smith of Nottingham.
Smith graduated in 2010 from Octorara High School in Atglen.
