Oh, Really?

A person lacking the courage to sign their name to a comment on a Parkesburg Today post last week stated the following:

"We all know there is huge waste in the school system."

Oh, really?

Lets examine the facts.

Currently all nine members of Octorara's Board of Directors are conservative Republicans, some serving 2nd and 3rd terms after after gaining the support of their overwhelming Republican voters and winning reelection to four year terms not once, but twice.

The superintendent is a conservative Republican who in a previous life was a big fan of Fox News and Sean Hannity.

No one has ever polled the administration as to their political leaning but even the casual observer would agree there are no flaming liberals in their ranks either.

So if all school board members, the superintendent and the entire administration are fiscal conservatives, isn't it logical to conclude that as much cost as possible has been wrung out of the school district's annual budget?

Sounds like courage isn't the only trait the commenter is lacking.

Perhaps this commenter/grenade thrower should attend a couple of board meetings and observe for himself how every dollar, quarter, dime and nickle spent by Octorara is reviewed and questions before being approved by the board.

A novel concept indeed.
