This Spring, sixth-grade students from the Octorara Intermediate School participated in the Chester County Reading Olympics, which was held at the Downingtown Middle School in Downingtown.

In preparation for the event, each team read the 45 books from the Reading Olympics list. The students used time in their Reading Skills class, as well as their own time, to read the books. They had the opportunity to collaborate with each other, discuss the books, create questions, and blog about the books with other Olympians in the area.

The event consisted of three rounds with questions about the books. The school’s Blue Team edged out their competitors in each round, while the Red Team did the same on two out of three rounds.
