Update 9.10.2011: First Avenue, Route 10, Culvert Avenue Flooded

The 400 block of First Avenue.  Taken by @snapperjack and posted to Twitter around 3:30 this afternoon.  Both Jack Assetto and Tracy Nolan said it was the first time they had ever seen First Avenue flood.

Looking north up Route 10 into Parkesburg.  Posted to Facebook by Nicole Wilde today at 4:10 PM.

Posted by Caleb Wilde on Facebook around 4:30 this afternoon with this description of the scene:
"Between the time I posted the other photos someone decided they could make it through the underpass. That's the roof of their floating car sticking out above the mud water. Thankfully they escaped with their health . . . Their cars a different story."
More pictures taken by Caleb Wilde of Parkesburg's flooding this past Wednesday when over 5 inches of rain fell in a few hours on the 'Burg.

Culvert (under bridge, between main st & first ave) CLOSED. Rt 10 (between E 2nd ave & Beale Dr) CLOSED. Find additional route home tonight if you live in South Parkesburg. Good Luck!

We could not believe our eyes driving home today. Luckily there were ways to zig zag through town. I hope businesses and homes down town are OK. Even our basement fairly high up was flooded due to ground saturation just like with Irene.
