Nancy Alonzo, a senior at Octorara High School, is one of two local students to be awarded scholarships at Friday night's Parkesburg Area Business Association annual dinner.

In high school Nancy was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and a strong student.  She graduates next week 42nd in her class with a 3.78 GPA. She also was a member Minerva club and active in her church.

According to Nancy her greatest accomplishment is graduating from high school and being able to go to college.  She knows having a higher education leads to more opportunities and a better quality of life

Nancy will be attending Temple University in the fall and plans to major in business management.

After college she plans to move to the city and get a job with a company and work her way up.  Eventually she wants to start her own business but only after she has the experience and capital needed to succeed.

Congratulations Nancy!
