At their annual recognition dinner Friday night at Beale Manor, the Parkesburg Area Business Association (PABA) recognized Mickey and Sharon Reinhart, owners of MilShar Properties, as the organization's Business of the Year.

In making the award, PABA's president Eric Jamison, noted MilShar's many investments in Parkesburg and said:
"...their goal is to keep our small town alive and enhancing our sense of community.  Through the Reinhart's continuing efforts to embellish the rich, wonderful history of Parkesburg's past they hope to continue the town's growth into the future."
Here's Eric's entire introduction of the Reinharts:
Miles and Sharon Reinhart, owners of MilShar Properties, have been rehabilitating residential and commercial properties for 35 years.  Sharon, having been raised in Parkesburg and Miles in Chiristiana, have tried to keep Parkesburg alive by bringing new businesses into town.  As we have witnessed the collapse of many towns due to the invasion of malls and big-box retail centers like Wal-Mart, we've also experienced the loss of the sense of community. Wanting to keep this from happening to Parkesburg is what motivated Miles and Sharon to start their business.

In 2001 they purchased the building known as the flats at 408 - 414 First Avenue.  The State Store space was renovated and ASKCA became their new tenant.  Recently the building long-term tenant Assetto's Barber Shop underwent a renovation and enjoy a thriving business.  The building also contains 6 residential apartments.

In 2003 MilShor purchased overhauled Stan's Tavern in the same building, expanding ASKA's office space and adding two new apartments in the process.

In 2007 MilShore expanded their Parkesburg holdings by purchasing the Chester County Flooring building on First Avenue, a building that now houses nuCreationz child care and Love Your Dog Grooming Salon.

In 2008 Sharon and Miles purchased the old Dollar Store building on First Avenue and divided the building into several commercial spaces.  Businesses including Helen's Florist, Pasquale's Pizza, Janice Smith Esquire, Judd Excavating and their newest business, Seawell's Grocery and Deli, made their home in the building.
Adding these business to Parkesburg is their goal is to keep our small town alive and enhancing our sense of community.  Through the Reinhart's continuing efforts to embellish the rich, wonderful history of Parkesburg's past they hope to continue the town's growth into the future."
In accepting the award Miles and Sharon thanked Parkesburg's Borough Council for easing building restrictions and making it easier to rehabilitate their properties and the Parkesburg business community for their support.
