Octorara Grad Distinguishes Herself at School, Work, Home and On The Field

While graduation ceremonies were Friday night, it seemed appropriate to wait until Sunday to post this profile of Amanda King, one of Octorara's top graduates this year.

In high school Amanda was a National Honor Society student with a 4.8 grade-point average and graduated with eight AP courses to her credit.

A sampling of the recognition Ms. King received last week include:
  • The Science Department's American Chemical Society Award
  • Co winner of Octorara Area Education Association General Scholarships
  • The Mathematics Department's Excellence in Mathematics award
  • Co winner of the Social Studies Excellence in Government award
  • U.S. Marines Semper Fidelis Awardc
  • Byron R. & Marie K. Judy Memorial Scholarship
Money quote:
Faith guides Amanda King's life.  "(Jesus Christ) is the foundation of my life," said the Octorara Area High School senior, who ranks first in her class. "I couldn't see myself outside of his will for me."  And she's willing to go wherever God leads her.
