Now that Christmas is over, don't assume that you can just take that Christmas tree down and put it out to the curb.
Christmas trees need to be recycled and will not be picked up with your regular trash.
Parkesburg residents wishing to dispose of their Christmas tree should take them to the 4th Ave and Gay Street corner of Minch Park ( near the base ball diamond) for composting.
When recycling your Christmas tree, it is important to remove any decorations, icicles, lights, garlands, tinsel, wrapping paper, hooks and tree stands.
It goes without saying these instructions are not for artificial trees. Those should be donated to a local charitable organization.
