We're Getting Bigger

If the numbers from the 2010 United States Census are to be believed, Parkesburg's population is growing and becoming more diverse.

Census takers recorded 3,593 men, women and children living in Parkesburg, an increase of 237 people from the year 2000 rates when the last census was taken.

Of the nearly 3,600 people living in town, 2,910 were counted as white, 323 African-Americans and 287 as Hispanic.  All other racial categories, including   'Multiracial,' registered less than 2% of Parkesburg's total population.

Parkesburg's neighboring townships and municipalities grew and diversified at about the same rate as Parkesburg, the exception being the Sadesburyville and Pomeroy Census Track. Population in that track to the east of Parkesburg grew nearly 40% in the last ten years.
