Pigs Play
Eric & Cindy Mammarella of Oakwood Drive on Parkesburg's east end never know what creature will wonder into their back yeard.
Over the years they've seen a variety of critters and fowls in their yard including deer, racoons, possums, foxes, pileated woodpeckers and owls.
For the past several years a pair of Cooper's hawks have nested in the trees in front of their house and have produced several noisy babies.
The Mammarellas have had wild turkeys hanging out on their deck railing and roof.
But even they were surprised to look out their window last week and see not one, but two pigs forraging amoungst the leaves and fallen branches.
"I believe they are potbelly pigs," Cindy stated. "They appear to be well nourished, and they are curious creatures," Cindy goes on to say.
She thinks they're more than a bit bashful because whenever anyone tries to get close, they scamper away into the woods.
"It's quite a funny sight."
