Last Day To Voice Your Opinion

Octorara's school board has over two months to finalize and approve this year's budget.

Will they approve the reorganizations and furloughs recommended by Superintendent Newcome, use the district's savings account, raise taxes or a combination of all of the above to get to a balanced budget?

This week's poll (over there in the upper right hand corner of this page) asks if you would be willing to pay more in taxes to sustain and support Octorara's education efforts.

As of 7:33 Friday morning 38 people had voiced their opinion.  Weigh in now.  Voice your opinion before the clock strikes 12.

Let me clarify my no vote. My School taxes increased $600.00 last year to slightly over $6600.00.
All in all to live here is costing close to $8000.00 in taxes.
I do not have children but believe in supporting their education.
Unfortunately, we can no longer afford this.
